God’s Garden
Dear church, summer is a busy time. Those of us who love flowers have to spend that extra time watering (especially on these hot days), dead heading, pulling weeds and showering them every now and then with a good shot of miracle grow. You know, we are God’s plants and we need the same kind of care. If we forget to water our plants they soon will wilt and die. The living water of the word keeps us growing and productive. Some plants require the removal of spent blossoms or they will stop producing beautiful blooms. You might still have a nice green bush, but no blooms. How many of us, after that first bloom of receiving Christ, just coast along, never really blooming again with new excitement and fervor? “Things are just ok the way they are.” Oh, and those nasty weeds! It takes constant attention and hard work getting rid of them. Our lives can be like that. Full of the weeds of contention, bitterness, and all kinds of sin. The answer, of course, is staying close to the Heavenly Gardner. Praying, listening, reading His manual on garden care. W can all be healthy, beautiful blooms in God’s garden of life, but it takes watering, weeding, deadheading and His Miracle Grow. Happy gardening.

awesome word jackie! Thanks for the encouragement! “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. – John 12:24. unless we die to ourselves we cannot bear fruit!
