I think Biblically, we should look at children as a blessing. They are the ones that God has given us the priveledge to share the gospel with! If God has chosen for us to be blessed with marriage, I don't think we should look at family as being a problem, but see it as our ministry (which I'm sure you believe, but just thought I'd add that in there). Here's a verse that I read earlier today that encouraged me.

"Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
         The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
         So are the children of one’s youth.
Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
         They shall not be ashamed,
         But shall speak with their enemies in the gate." Pslam 127:3-5

Matthew, good to hear you are moving up here. Is it for school? Got a family? What's the skinny? We hope we are and we would like to be the kind of church that you describe. The more the merrier! You can email direct or call with any questions you might have. Thanks for the comment.

Hey Miriam, I'm not sure about that yet. I assume it's copyrighted material so I'm going to check and see if it's OK with the people who made it if we can audio/video record it all. You should also be able to get the Followers Journal through our online Amazon bookstore if you want it.

Dear Corby, what a beautiful thing to share with us. We are all so broken and need fixing. God has been dealing with me a lot lately about this same subject. I love Psalm 5l, it brings me great comfort. God wants us broken so He can mend us and shape us into what He wants us to be. Why do we fight Him so?

I have to say that this book is excellent! I love how it directs each of us to look at our own part in our marriage. No blame game. It points us to our responsibility in our walk and the biggest WOW, I am a sinner married to a sinner!!!!

The Lord has been directing my heart to "grace" for quite some time now. How easily I can forget to offer grace to others and how I forget that I live by and in God's grace every minute of every day.

Each day I have to purposely pray to ask God help me walk in His grace. To offer this same grace to others that He has lavished upon me. His grace must not only be offered to those around me continually but that I have to remember that my husband should be extended this grace first, foremost and always. John should not receive the end of my grace, he should always be at the front of the line. How often it is that others get the best of me while my family gets what is left over, if there is any left to give.

I highly recommend this book and I am only in the beginning of it. I also pray that each of us will examine ourselves closely and be willing to hear and see what God is showing us and to have teachable, humble hearts. And that we will continually walk in God's grace and mercy and unfailing love!
